How can your gift of membership help the FRIENDS OF THE KICKAPOO VALLEY RESERVE?

To preserve, restore and enhance the Reserve's natural, cultural, and historic resources.
To provide improved services and facilities for visitors to the Reserve.
To increase public awareness and support of the Reserve.
To enhance educational and interpretive activities.
To improve trails and trail facilities.
To repair and improve campsites.

The Friends of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve is an organization of people dedicated to assist the Kickapoo Reserve Management Board in its mission to preserve and protect the lands entrusted to the Reserve by raising funds and public awareness, and by providing volunteers for needed projects.

Here's What You Can Do To Help The Reserve...

Volunteer for Activities at the Reserve

From helping to maintain the Community Garden and Star Valley Memorial to assisting with activities and events at the Reserve, the Friends extend a helping hand.

Sponsor of KVR Events

The Friends help sponsor a variety of events on the Reserve, such as the Winter Festival, The Dam Challenge Triathlon, Heritage Days, and the Fall Trails Weekend.

Raise Funds

The Friends have annual fundraisers - The Dam Challenge Spaghetti Supper, the Brat & Burger Stand at the Kickapoo Country Fair, and the Cookie Walk (part of "Small Town Christmas"). In addition, the Friends as a depository for donations to special projects and as partners for grants towards special events and projects.

Share in Special Interests

Friends members are currently working on horse trail improvments and history projects. Member donation have greatly enhanced the birding, prairie restoration, and astronomy programs at the Reserve.

Spread the Word

Through its web page, kickapoofriends.org and quarterly newsletters, the Friends get the word out on what's happening at the Reserve!!
